OPERATION PAVE- PETERLEE |
||
|
Officers have been conducting foot patrols in Peterlee, an area that has been identified as a hotspot for anti-social behaviour in County Durham.
Due to increased Police visibility, there has been a noticeable reduction in anti-social behaviour in the area. During patrols, officers have been engaging with members of the public and staff in local stores to build stronger relationships and improve communication and confidence with Police. This helps us better understand and identify the issues affecting the local community.
Why this is important:
Visible patrols help reassurance the public, deter anti-social behaviour, and give residents and businesses the opportunity to speak directly with officers about concerns in their area. Building these relationships helps Police respond to problems more effectively and work together with the community to keep Peterlee a safe place to live, work and visit.
Over the last year these efforts have shown positive results. If you see a local officer out and about, don't hesitate to say hello.
Officers have really enjoyed engaging with the community, and there has been a lot of positive feedback about seeing officers on the beat in your area.
